Five people were killed in a road accident that occurred near Al-Leith, 150 km from Jeddah, on Sunday evening.
The victims were part of a group of four Bangladeshi and two Pakistani nationals working in Qunfudah who had come to Jeddah and were returning home in a car driven by a Saudi youth.
The speeding vehicle collided near Al-Leith with three of the Bangladeshi workers and the Saudi driver dying on the spot while one died on his way to hospital, according to officials.
“The dead Bangladeshi were identified as Yasin, Shah Haroon, Amanullah and Abdul Haleem,” said Mukammal Hussain of the Bangladesh Consulate. He said that three of the bodies were being kept at the King Faisal Hospital in Makkah while one body was at King Abdulaziz Hospital in Jeddah.
