Labor Minister Adel Fakeih said over 250,000 Saudis have benefited from the ministry’s employment services during the seven-month amnesty given to illegals to legalize their status.
“We will shortly publish the details of jobs gained by these Saudis and where they are working, as well as the results of the labor correction campaign,” he said while launching a forum in Alkhobar.
He commended the Interior Ministry for its support to the campaign to drive out illegal workers and implement other programs aimed at creating more jobs for Saudis.
Fakeih emphasized the need to create more job opportunities for Saudi women. “In the first forum, we discussed working hours, while the second forum dealt with salaries in the private sector. Today, we focus on the challenges facing working women,” he told the forum, which was attended by a large number of businessmen and businesswomen in the Eastern Province.
He said the ministry would continue to discuss all labor issues with counterparts to find viable solutions. “The purpose of this forum is to listen to different viewpoints on various issues and understand the positive and negative aspects of various decisions.”
Fakeih emphasized the ministry’s determination to create a secure working atmosphere for women.
