Bupa Arabia, a major health insurance provider in Saudi Arabia, has signed several agreements with orphan homes located in Jazan, Abha and Taif that took place at King Fahd Women’s Charity Establishment to provide free medical insurance for all orphans who are benefiting from the charity’s services.
The agreement was signed by Tal Nazer, CEO of Bupa Arabia, and Ghada Abdulghaffar on behalf of Taif orphans, Adel Hadi on behalf of Jazan orphans, Jabran Alqahtani on behalf of Abha orphans, and Shekha Alhezam on behalf of Abha and Jazan orphans.
“Two years ago, we began with a visionary initiative launched by Bupa Arabia’s Chairman Loay Nazer, and today we are proud to see his vision transformed into reality. As a leading national company in the Kingdom’s health insurance industry we strongly believe in contributing to the development and prosperity of our society,” Nazer said.
Nazer stated that Bupa Arabia’s free health insurance program for orphans was moving at an accelerated pace and up-to-date. It has covered around 1,800 orphans located in cities, including Makkah, Riyadh, Taif, Jeddah, Dammam, Abha and Jazan.
Bupa aims to expand its program to cover the remaining 3,000 orphans living in orphanages in various regions such as (Al-Ahsa, Hail, Tabuk, Alatawla, Alshagraa, Buraidah and Enaiza) by the end of December 2013.
What is unique about this project is that it is designed to satisfy orphans’ needs, therefore Bupa sends a team of qualified doctors and nurses to the orphanages where they carry out comprehensive medical check-ups of the children to identify any health conditions or complications that may require special care and attention prior to their enrollment. The results of the check-ups are reviewed and the team makes a list of recommendations for each orphan.
