Prince Abdulrahman bin Talal, son of Prince Talal bin Abdul Aziz, AGFUND founder and president, presented Philippine Ambassador Ezzedin H. Tago with a check of $100,000 on Tuesday as a donation from the AGFUND (Arab Gulf Program for Development) for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.
“It is very touching to receive condolences from Saudi friends and officials on the recent disaster that has hit the Philippines. Many officials have called me after the tragedy and I continue to receive personal messages on the phone and through letters,” the Filipino envoy said.
During the meeting, Prince Abdulrahman bin Talal handed a letter to the Filipino diplomat conveying condolences to President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino lll, Vice President Jejomar Binay and the Filipino people.
“We truly appreciate AGFUND’s humanitarian gesture. The Filipino people, especially those in the affected areas, are sincerely grateful for the contribution,” Tago said.
The check was made out in favor of the Philippine National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC).
