The Saudi Council of Ministers on Monday urged Egyptian people as well as Arab and Islamic countries to work together toward reinforcing peace and stability in Egypt.
The Cabinet, chaired by Prince Muqrin, second deputy premier, made this statement while commending a message given by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah last week, affirming Riyadh’s support for Egypt.
“The message’s content stemmed from the values upheld by the king, who has always stood for the right cause without any vested interests,” the Cabinet said.
It also praised the king’s keenness and support for Egyptian people to confront terrorism, misguidance and sedition.
The Cabinet meeting expressed its condolences to King Abdullah, Crown Prince Salman, and Prince Muqrin on the death of Prince Musaed bin Abdul Aziz, who died last week.
On behalf of the king, Prince Muqrin expressed his gratitude to all who expressed their sincere condolences on Prince Musaed’s death.
Addressing the Cabinet, Prince Muqrin thanked the Almighty for the unlimited blessings bestowed upon the Kingdom, particularly security, stability and the honor of serving the Two Holy Mosques as well as the millions of Haj and Umrah pilgrims.
He commended employees of the various sectors that participated in the service of pilgrims during the last Umrah season, especially in Ramadan, adding that their services had enabled the guests of God to perform their rituals comfortably.
Abdul Aziz Khoja, minister of culture and information said the Cabinet valued Interior Minister Prince Muhammad bin Naif’s statement, urging citizens to uphold the Kingdom’s security and stability by cooperating with the Saudi leadership.
Prince Muhammad had also praised the king’s message on Egypt and his desire to reinforce peace and stability in the region. He reminded Saudis of their national duty.
The Cabinet took a number of important decisions. It approved the accession of the Ministry of Education to the National Committee for Geographic Information Systems.
It also endorsed the rules and regulations of the National Center for Health Information, which will be linked to the Health Services Council and connected with a network of health information with the Ministry of Health, Medical Services in the military and security sectors, university hospitals and other government agencies.
“The center shall have a number of tasks and functions, such as linking networks of telemedicine for the formation of a national network of medical communication and raising awareness of the importance of health information,” Khoja said.
The Cabinet discussed the draft executive program and timetable for the privatization of flour mills with the aim of increasing their competitiveness and encouraging the private sector to invest in the industry.
The Cabinet appointed Hassan bin Abdul Rashid bin Hassan Attar ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Yusuf bin Abdullah Al-Wabel administrative adviser at the Presidency for the Two Holy Mosques; Raafat bin Ahmed Al-Sayed minister plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Sana bint Abdul Rahman Al-Jaafari assistant undersecretary for external relations and libraries at the Ministry of Education; and Hamad bin Abdul Rahman Al-Wabel assistant director general for financial and administrative affairs at the Directorate for Water in the Eastern Region.
