Khalid Jamjoom, CEO of SEDCO Development Company that has developed Elaf Bakkah project in Mahbs Aljen, Makkah, says the continuing expansion of the Holy Mosque and the increasing pressure on the hospitality sector have been creating new investment opportunities in the holy city. “Going by the increasing demand from pilgrims, hotel occupancies will be the maximum during the peak seasons,” he said.
Jamjoom added that the government has focused on the comfort of pilgrims and visitors by building and investing in towers, which can generate more than 2,500 new hotel rooms. Elaf Bakkah is one of the remarkable projects in Mahbs Aljen and it represents a new image of the surrounding area, he said.
SEDCO Development and its engineers have made all efforts during each phase of the project to maintain best quality and efficiency, Jamjoom said, adding that Elaf Bakkah features 24-floor hotel, including 3 floors in the basement. The hotel comprises 810 rooms and suites and a helipad for helicopters while the basement can accommodate 170 cars at a time.
Jamjoom said Elaf Bakkah is progressing well within the set time frame, and all furniture and furnishing activities as well as testing should be completed by middle of the year to be ready for operating the hotel.
Mahbs Aljen has become one of the most potential areas for investors due to its proximity to the holy mosque and easy accessibility to the main roads, he added.
