TVTC to train Saudis on diverse technical works

The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) is prepared to conduct short training courses on electrical, plumbing and carpentry maintenance works to minimize dependence of Saudi households on foreign workers, a TVTC official said.
The training courses, destined for young Saudis, are aimed to make the Saudi family members depend on themselves on how to deal with and repair minor defects at home, said Fahad Al-Ataibi, the TVTC spokesman.
Majority of the Saudis, whose population is estimated at 19 million, are reportedly depending on foreign workers to have their plumbing or electrical minor defects repaired. The TVTC is ready to conduct short training courses in these areas because it has the required infrastructure fully equipped with the latest training modules and technologies.
The TVTC facilities are located in all parts of the Kingdom and prepared with specialized trainers and technicians, he said.
The major role of the TVTC is to supply Saudi labor market with trained national workforce commensurate with the needs of the local market in diverse areas, he added.
