AMMAN, Jordan: Jordan says it is recalling its ambassador to Iran for consultations.
Government spokesman Mohammed Momani said on Monday that Jordan took the step because of what he described as Iranian interference in the “internal affairs of neighboring countries, especially Gulf countries.”
He did not cite a specific trigger for the decision.
Momani said in comments published by the state news agency Petra that Iran has “not responded” to calls by Jordan and others to respect the sovereignty of Arab countries.
