Countering Hindutva

This is with reference to the article “Is RSS rocking Modi’s boat?” (Dec. 18) by Rajeev Sharma. I see this article as nothing but a crude joke. Why would the RSS try to harm the government, which has provided it with an opportunity to flourish and to impose its agenda on an otherwise secular country?
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent statement should not be seen as his effort to calm rising communal tensions. It was just a face-saving attempt so as to avoid international criticism. By the way, it took him a long time to respond to the stupid rhetoric of his team members. The members of the sitting parliament are continuously spitting venom against the minority communities particularly, the Muslims. It was all expected under the BJP rule. The writer thinks that people are naïve enough to fall for his silly propaganda portraying Modi as a person who is completely focused on development. Indian Muslims should try to form their own party and forge alliances with representatives of other minority communities so as to fight the spread of Hindutva in India. —
