Shah Rukh controversy
It just looks like a real Indian movie scene, as those who are always keen to grab the slightest opportunity to tarnish the image of celebrities especially if they belong to minority community, scripted it. Whatever happened, truth will prevail, but one thing emerged clearly. Indian media is fully exploiting the situation and abusing the freedom of press. Without knowing the real facts, they are simply delivering their own judgments against individuals under the name of exclusive reports. The whole anti-minorities lobby came forward in competing with each other to go to the lowest level of filthy reporting and yellow journalism. Indian media, which is mostly dominated by big tycoons and opposition groups, is famous for their biased reporting.
Once in the past, while reporting one incident of explosion, reporters insisted Home Minister P. Chidambram to say if he doubts any banned Muslim outfit behind the incident, he refrained from saying anything except that, until the investigation is completed we can’t say anything, but the all the TV channels immediately pointed their fingers toward minorities.
Surprisingly, Shatrughan Sinha and Kirti Azad, who belongs to the opposition (the BJP), came to the support of Shah Rukh Khan.

Joshua’s elemination
Right throughout this season Joshua has received the highest number of standing ovations from the judges as well as the audience and was regarded as the best ever contestant in the 12-year history of “American Idol” but shockingly he was eliminated after polling less viewer votes than Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips, on Thursday. As expected there was a whopping 90 million votes. The result shocked the judges though Joshua took it in good spirits, smiling and waving at audience. He then hugged Jennifer Lopez emotionally while performing his swansong, “It’s a man’s world.” The 20-year-old from Louisiana, who is touted to land a record deal, then pulled his mother up on stage at the end of his song.
Jennifer looked teary eyed as Joshua learned he was going home. Idol mentor and record company boss Jimmy Iovine had earlier shouldered some of the blame for choosing the wrong song to showcase Joshua’s talents last night. Anyway, teenage sensation Jessica’s place in the final reinforced the judge’s decision to “save” her from elimination few weeks ago. I share the comment of one of the fans who said that Joshua does not need a contest of this nature to prove his natural talent, who can stand shoulder to shoulder with any professional in business now. This result is a real disappointment for many true music lovers. However, there will be a stampede from the recording companies to sign in Joshua, who was my choice for “American Idol” this season from the very word go!

Plight of passengers
With Air India pilots’ strike entering 11th day, there are no signs of any resolution of the crisis in the near future. Both the parties — the pilots and the Air India management — are not ready to budge even an inch from their standpoint. They are holding their ground without realizing the fact that how hapless and helpless their passengers are feeling as a result of this strike. So many passengers are stranded at Jeddah airport without any options but to wait for the strike to end. Air India management seems to be indifferent to the plight of its passengers who are stranded at airports all over the world. It’s high time the government of India intervened and resolved the crisis as neither the pilots nor the officials of the Air India would stand to lose anything, it is only the people of India — the passengers and the taxpayers who would be compensating for the massive loss the airline is incurring as a result of this strike — would finally suffer.
