A medical team from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan, one of the reputed medical colleges in Asia, has conducted clinical exams for resident and trainee physicians at Riyadh-based King Fahad Medical City (KFMC).
The exams come to boost scientific partnerships existing between KFMC and global medical research centers that are aimed to exchange experiences in various areas of medicine and to raise skill levels of trainee physicians at KGMC, acting CEO of KGMC Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Himaidhi said as quoted by the Saudi Press Agency.
He said the exams were conducted in certain sections such as internal medicine, general surgery, gynecology and obstetrics.
On his part, Director of Post-graduate Studies and Scholarship at KGMC Professor Abdulrahman Al-Sabbagh said KGMC has taken the responsibility of providing academic education and training for its medical cadres to upgrade their level of scientific and professional careers.
Conduction of exams outside the College of Physicians and Surgeons (Pakistani) for the first time and their choice KGMC as an exam center shows level of confidence and competence of Saudi medical city, he said.
He expressed hope the step will push aspects of cooperation between the two parties to better levels.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan is the one of world's leading colleges in the field of medicine, and sponsors more than 12,000 resident physicians, in addition to thousands of doctors trained in fellowships and other areas of medical education.
It also brings together physicians, surgeons and other specialists of Pakistan periodically for scientific discussions and practical demonstrations of various subjects.
