Qur’an memorizers honored

The Charity Society for the Memorization of Qur’an in Madinah on Tuesday organized its annual ceremony to honor students who have memorized the whole Qur’an.
Madinah Gov. Prince Abdul Aziz bin Majed attended the ceremony and donated SR 500,000 to the society. He also announced plans to hold an annual Qur’an contest for boys and girls in the region.
Prince Abdul Aziz distributed certificates to 148 outstanding students, among which 56 passed with excellent grade.
The governor also honored the winners of King Abdul Aziz International Qur’an Competition, Prince Salman Qur’an contest and Prince Sultan bin Salman contest for the handicapped.
Prince Abdul Aziz expressed his delight over taking part in the ceremony to honor memorizers of the Qur’an.
“Tonight we have listened to the Qur’an reciters who won various contests. Encouraging students to read the Qur’an in the best form is a noble work,” he added.
Ali Al-Obaid, chairman of the society, commended the government’s support to Qur’an memorization schools across the country.
