Two women teachers and a girl were fighting for their lives in hospital with serious burns following a fire that gutted part of a primary school in Hail on Wednesday.
Fifty-eight people including teachers, students and administration officials suffered injuries in the fire at the 5th Qur’an Memorization Primary School in the King Abdullah district in Hail, the Civil Defense said. 
While 35 of the injured were taken to hospital, 23 cases were treated at the site. Among those admitted to hospital, 14 were students, two teachers and one was an administration staff member. Those who suffered from exhaustion and breathing problem were discharged the same day. Two teachers and a girl are still in hospital and in serious condition.
Five civil defense personnel, 11 local residents, a traffic policeman and a National Guardsman who participated in the rescue operations also suffered burns, the statement said.
Director General of Education in Hail Hamad Al-Imran, Director General of Hail Civil Defense Maj. Gen. Abdullah Al-Zahrani, Director General of the Health Department Nawaf Al-Harithy and Director of King Khaled Hospital Fawaz Al-Rashid visited the victims at the hospital and comforted the patients and their parents.
