LONDON: Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir met with his US counterpart John Kerry in London on Thursday.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations as well as issues of common interest between the US and Saudi Arabia.
In a joint press conference, Al-Jubeir, talking about the ties between the two allied nations, said the US-Saudi relationship is strong.
Kerry said Washington stands by its friends, "but we also want to see diplomacy work. We want to try to see if there's a way, moving forward, to resolve some of these problems without moving to greater conflict."
"The last thing the region needs is more conflict, and I know the kingdom of Saudi Arabia agrees with that," Kerry said.
Al-Jubeir condemned the terrorist bombings in Indonesia and Pakistan, stressing the importance of working effectively in order to confront these terrorist acts.
