JEDDAH: Houthi rocket attacks launched from inside Yemen have killed two people in southern Saudi Arabia over the last 24 hours, SPA reported on Friday. The SPA quoted a Civil Defense official in Jazan as saying that a child was killed and three other children were wounded on Friday in Al-Tawal region.
A rocket attack on Thursday killed one citizen and wounded two others in Al-Hosn village.
Saudi Apaches and armed divisions immediately launched an attack on the source of the rocket fire. Saudi artillery also continued their strikes on Houthi targets inside Yemen..
Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition launched heavy airstrikes against Iran-backed rebels in Yemen, targeting camps and weapons depots in Sanaa.
Sanaa residents awoke to the sound of explosions Friday morning as warplanes targeted weapons caches in Noqum mountain, sending up bursts of flames and columns of smoke. Airstrikes also targeted the Houthis in their northern home base of Saada province.
Witnesses described seeing Apache helicopters flying overhead that appeared to be targeting rebel vehicles.
