Jazeera Airways issues July operational performance report

Award-winning Jazeera Airways yesterday issued its July 2012 Operational Performance Report, showing a continued market share lead on key routes, and a continued lead in on-time performance (OTP) against all other airlines in the Middle East as ranked by the independent US-based OTP tracker FlightStats.
The airline's OTP for the month was 93.9 percent, making Jazeera Airways the most punctual airline in the Middle East for the 19th month in a row.
The report, which presents market share figures based on official statistics from Kuwait's Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA), showed that the airline's July market share for the Kuwait-Cairo route grew from 26 percent in June to 28 percent in July, led by a 12 percent seasonal increase in flown passengers on the route.
The airline saw a similar positive performance on the Kuwait-Beirut route with market share growing from 30 percent in June to 33 percent in July, representing a 3 percent increase that was also driven by a 20 percent seasonal increase in flown passengers on the route.
The airline was the leading Kuwaiti airline to the high-demand summer destinations of Amman, Dubai, Bahrain and Beirut in addition to capturing leading market share figures on five of the six Egyptian destinations it serves, according to the report.
Jazeera Airways had a 27 percent market share on the Kuwait-Alexandria route, a 67 percent market share on the Kuwait-Sharm El Sheikh route, a 52 percent market share on the Kuwait-Assiut route, a 34 percent market share on the Kuwait-Sohag route, and a 75 percent market share on the Kuwait-Luxor route.
The report also showed that Jazeera Airways was the leading Kuwaiti airline between Kuwait and Amman with a 37 percent market share, Kuwait and Beirut with a 33 percent market share, Kuwait and Bahrain with a 10 percent market share, and Kuwait and Dubai with a 16 percent market share.
