Minister of Commerce and Industry Tawfeeq Al-Rabiah met with executive council members of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) to discuss economic and social development in the province and throughout the Kingdom.
Al-Rabiah said the ministry is concerned with economic development in local districts, building economic cities and enhancing investment opportunities.
RCCI chairman Abdulrahman Al-Juraisy conveyed members' recommendations with regard to local issues and future plans and visions to the minister, who stressed the chamber’s role in supporting the national economy.
Board member and head of the branches' committee Fahad Al-Hammadi said the local branches’ role went beyond economic development to serving the local communities.
Al-Hammadi added the chamber is currently working toward building permanent centers for branches to keep pace with urban development.
The fifth Riyadh Economic Forum, Al-Hammadi added, reviewed studies on development and investment opportunities in local districts.
It also held a number of activities and events and supported public festivals through sponsorship and organization.
The Chamber is committed to reaching all beneficiaries of its services through expanding its branches and including remote districts. Al-Hammadi said a team was organized to follow up on the construction of the branch centers.
Al-Hammadi said the chamber's local branches are witnessing growth in business and demand for their services by the local community. They are also committed to educating young businessmen through literature and activities.
He said periodic meetings are held with executive councils to introduce the chamber’s committees' services, work development programs, and obstacles facing the business sector and the ways to tackle them.
