DHAKA: Bangladesh police say they have arrested four suspects in the killing of a Saudi diplomat in Dhaka early this year.
Diplomat Khalaf bin Mohammed Salem Al-Ali was shot and killed 30 meters (yards) from his home shortly after midnight on March 6.
Police official Mollah Nazrul Islam said Wednesday the four suspects were detained this week after a revolver and a car used in the killing were found in their possession.
Police said the men told investigators they tried to rob the diplomat as he was going for a walk on the deserted street and shot him accidentally during a scuffle.
Al-Ali was a 45-year-old official in the Saudi Embassy’s consular section.
