RIYADH: Saudi security forces announced today the arrest of one of the 23 Saudi wanted men in connection with the Awamiya riots in the Eastern Province town of Qatif.
Twenty-year-old Hussain Hasan Ali Al-Rabea was apprehended Sunday night near his hiding place after a brief shoot-out with the security forces, which resulted in Al-Rabea suffering minor injures in his legs.
Spokesman of the Interior Ministry Maj. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki said, “The arrest happened while the suspect was selling a large amount of narcotics in Awamiya. The suspect suffered some minor injures in the legs before he was transferred to a nearby hospital.”
Al-Turki said one security personal had also suffered minor injures from the shoot-out.
