Emaar ME, STC sign deal

JEDDAH: Emaar Middle East (EME) has signed an agreement with Saudi Telecom Company (STC) for implementing the communication infrastructure in all EME projects in the Kingdom. STC will meet all networking and information and communication technology (ICT) needs of EME’s projects including Jeddah Gate and Alkhobar Lakes.

Alaa Abdullah Saed, CEO, Emaar Middle East, and Sameer Asaad Matboli, vice president, business service sector, STC, signed the agreement here yesterday.

As per the agreement, STC will provide all the communication services including data and information transfer and Internet services, and telecom services such as land lines and mobile connectivity. A special team from STC will manage and supervise the activation of all the services.

Saed said: “Emaar Middle East has defined a distinctive identity for itself in a short span through its world-class living environments that have opened to strong investor response. Both Jeddah Gate and Alkhobar Lakes are modern lifestyle neighborhoods, and to give residents a truly luxurious lifestyle it is important to have the latest communication and information technology infrastructure.”

He added: “STC, as the premier telecom and IT company in the Kingdom, is the perfect partner for implementing a modern telecom and IT network within our master-planned communities. The hi-tech environment will greatly enhance the quality of living, and also provide businesses a dynamic environment to thrive.”
