DHAKA, 18 August 2006 — Ten robbers were killed in a gunbattle with police at Nakharach area of Sujanagar sub-district in Pabna district yesterday. The four-hour gunbattle left 10 policemen, including the officer-in-charge of Sujanagar police station, Rabiul Islam, and a number of robbers injured. Six of the deceased criminals were identified. According to police, they raided Nakharach area at about 4:30 a.m. after they were tipped-off about the criminals’ plan to commit robbery in the area.
