Law and You by Mohammed Jaber Nader

A.I.S. I was under a sponsorship of a very nice Saudi person. After his death his son became my new sponsor. Last month, I requested my new sponsor to increase my salary. He, however, refused. I want to know about costs relating to the transfer of sponsorship. This would be my second transfer.

Unless one of the parties is a company, the labor contract is annulled by the death of either party. In your case, you may seek another job. The official transfer fees are SR2,000 for the first time, SR4,000 for the second time and SR6,000 for the third time.

B.D.D. Is there a law regarding the teaching load of a full time teacher. How many academic hours (maximum) is a teacher allowed to teach? If there is such a law, then does it apply to all teachers, regardless of whether they teach at the elementary, high school or college levels?

In this column, we do not explain the law as provisions and regulations. We are concerned with incidents affecting readers and for which they are looking for solutions or guidance. Write to me if you are facing a problem of irregularity or injustice from any side. I shall then inform you of the law governing it and what you should do. If you want to only know the provisions of the law, then you will find this in academic books and on websites. Try this website for a start, www.mohe.gov.sa. Here you will find all that you need to know about the subject. You may also ask schoolteachers and university administrations for more specific information.
