JEDDAH, 9 October 2006 — Two thieves assaulted Saudi singer Tuhah at the gates of a relative’s house in Jeddah on Saturday. The incident took place shortly before the time for breaking the Ramadan fast. The assailants escaped with her handbag containing SR7,000, medications and a cell phone. For the next two hours, her driver followed the suspects who were in a car without number plates, but the thieves managed to escape and police are investigating. Tuhah is a pioneer of Arab songs of the past in the Gulf region. She wrote, composed and sang the songs. She has also faced a number of recent difficulties, including health problems, Al-Madinah newspaper reported yesterday. |
