MADINAH: A block of cells in Madinah general prison caught fire on Sunday. The blaze was quickly put out and is being treated as arson, the Civil Defense announced on Monday.

Spokesman for the Civil Defense Col. Mansour Al-Johani said their operations room received information about the fire and immediately dispatched units to fight the flames.

He said a mattress, pillow and rug had been set alight in a solitary confinement cell. He said the case has been handed over to concerned authorities.
