MAKKAH: The Civil Defense has stationed more than 1,000 paramedics in 13 locations in and outside the Grand Mosque to provide first aid medical services to pilgrims and transport serious cases to nearby hospitals and health centers. The Civil Defense forces also help in organizing traffic in the crowded central area around the Haram following up the entry and exit of pilgrims through CCTV. Director of Civil Defense in Makkah Brig. Jameel bin Muhammad Omar Arbaeen said all these points have been supplied with ambulances and qualified medical cadres to deal with emergency cases resulting from exhaustion, sunstroke and conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and others.
