MADINAH: Chairman of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice Sheikh Abdul Aziz Humain Al-Humain here Tuesday opened the third meeting of the administrators and directors of the commission under the slogan “Towards a Comprehensive Development Vision.” Over two days, the meeting, being held at Al-Iyman Intercontinental Hotel in Madinah, will discuss ways of improving the government-run organization’s performance. The meeting will hold many sessions in which members of the commission will present 13 working papers. Al-Humain said the meeting gains importance as it comes in the wake of many promotional steps taken by the commission, including cooperation with a number of Saudi universities with which the commission has signed memorandums of understanding. He said a paper that is to be delivered at the event — entitled “Management of Field Affairs” — would likely attract much attention. He added that the meeting is an opportunity to discuss another paper on the commission’s efforts in intellectual security. “The commission has always stood firmly against devious thought and destructive trends to protect the youth,” he added. The chairman recalled that the commission has undertaken a number of steps within its “development strategy” including: the employment of qualified staff, creation of new departments and the use of state-of-the art computer systems. He said the meeting will also discuss the new organizational structure of the commission in areas such as: administration, development, technology, media, field work, research and strategic planning. “We will consider all issues relating to the administrative and field work of the commission with a view to improving performance and correcting mistakes,” he said. |
