AL-JOUF: An attempt to kidnap a nine-year-old girl at Sakaka’s Al-Sarhani shopping center failed after the girl’s brother managed to free her from the abductor.

The girl had been out shopping with her mother and older brother. They were waiting outside the shopping center for another of the girl’s brothers to come and pick them up when a woman approached them and asked the mother if she would allow her daughter to accompany her into a perfume store, claiming her husband would not allow her inside the store alone.

The mother agreed and the woman left her shopping bags with her to assure her she would return. After a few minutes, the mother became suspicious and looked inside the bags to find them full of empty boxes.

She then panicked and began searching and calling for her daughter. Her son then found the woman dragging his sister by the hand while talking on the telephone.

The youth managed to free his sister from the woman who was telling someone on the phone to bring his car to the gate, as she was about to leave the mall.
