AL-JOUF: A student at Imam Muhammad bin Saud University’s center in Qurayat stabbed a fellow student in the back during the school break yesterday following a dispute between them before the start of their class.

Medical sources at Qurayat General Hospital said the victim might need a surgery to remove a piece of metal that broke off the knife inside his body.

Sheikh Muhammad Saleh Al-Shirari, head of the center, said the incident took place on the premises of the university during the daily break. The conflict was a carry-over from an argument that occurred in the morning between the two students.

Al-Shirari said that when the two students met during the break, one of them drew out a knife and stabbed the other in his back. He said the assailant is a student in the third intermediate year while the victim is a freshman.
