RIYADH, 16 January 2008 — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah yesterday ordered emergency relief supplies to be distributed among citizens hit by an unprecedented cold spell in the country, an official statement said.

“The assistance will include foodstuffs, blankets, bed sheets, sweaters and other materials essential to lessen the harmful effect of the cold spell,” the statement said, adding that the supplies would be distributed among the needy under the supervision of regional governorates.
